Revised: April 18, 2006

In Internet Explorer, disabling of JavaScript can be set under Tools, Internet Options, Security, then click on the Web content area and click on the Custom button at the bottom. In the next screen, look for the Active Scripting category, and under Active Scripting, check the disable button.

In Netscape 7, you can disable JavaScript by choosing Edit>Preferences>Advanced. If you don't see options under Advanced, click the triangle to the left to see options, then choose Scripts and Plugins, and uncheck the Navigator box for "Enable JavaScript for" (this will grey out all the boxes below that refer to particular uses of JavaScript).

In Netscape 8, there is no Edit>Preferences alternative. Instead one can choose Tools>Options>Site Controls and there is a box to disable JavaScript, but I could not get this to work.

If JavaScript is not supported or disabled, you will see a message below because it appears between <noscript> and </noscript> tags. If JavaScript is working, you will not see this message.
